It's healthy enough for me to feel good about eating it, but also bad enough to be comfort food. Favourite organ: The eye because all of my favorite anatomy fun facts are about it. Favourite organelle: Cytoplasm, because it supports and holds all of the organelles together in the cell and I think that's beautiful. Fun fact: I have donated my hair to cancer 3 times and I am seriously considering making it 4 soon :) |

Maya Naidu
Hello! My name is Maya and I’m a third year student in the Life Sciences stream, also doing a Certificate in Liberal Arts. Outside of peer mentorship, I am also involved in Impact SFU, a club on the Surrey Campus, Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity, and the Friends of Simon Tutoring Project.
During classes… I admittedly spend most of my time at a desk, in lecture, or in meetings…. but during free time, I enjoy going on nature walks, food adventures, and of course, binging Netflix and Youtube when I shouldn’t be. You can usually find me studying in the Health Sciences Lounge or on fifth floor of the Bennett library. When I need a brain break, I love to go walk around the AQ pond. My favourite class at SFU is definitely HSCI 130 with Dr. Ro. In that class, I made so many lasting friendships and understood what I could learn about health aside from the biological aspect! |
